Gary Walker, from Mt. Airy, Maryland, is steadily improving his entire racing operation during the 2012 season. Walker, a new comer to Pro Mod, but not a new driver by any means spending many years behind the wheel of a blown alcohol Heavy Street Chevy II.
Walker made to the move to Pro Mod by purchasing the G-Force Race Cars built 68 Firebird, formerly campaigned by Mike Stawicki. Once Walker received the car, Jon Salemi from Resolution Racing Services was called on to formulate the overall combination. Salemi stated. “I’ve worked Gary for a long time and knew he could wheel a Pro Mod with the best of them. Together we set a budget, purchased the best parts possible within that budget and went to the track. The rest is unfolding as we speakâ€. Walker and his team have been having fun, going rounds, and learning the in and out’s of Pro Mod. He states, “I wish everything in life was this easy. This car is a dream to drive and surprised me when the performance that came so quickly. I just look forward to improving as a team owner and driver and improving on my personal best times of 3.89 @ 190 mph in the 1/8 and 6.04 @ 233 mph in the ¼â€.
The team will make its next outing at the NEOPM Supercharger Showdown at Maryland International Dragway on September 21-22.
